So who wants to know about my workload?

It's half term! Hooray! A week off of college to plan before NaNo starts!

Oh wait, what's that in my notebook? Could it be...is it possible? It's an ENORMOUS WORKLOAD.

ENORMOUS WORKLOAD uses WORK DUMP!

It's SUPER EFFECTIVE

SAM IS PWNED. LIKE TOTALLY.

So yeah. I have TONS to do. I have a list of things I need to do for each of my five art classes, an essay to write on the Bauhaus movement that I REALLY have no idea for and an English essay that I have the bare bones of, and by that I mean I have a few lines of what probably needs to be in it. It doesn't help that my teacher was just like, 'lol have an essay' on Friday and that we've done no notes relating to it AT ALL.

GAH!

On the bright side, I'm making cake today and I have a pop-up rainbow in my art book now. Also I'm getting the hang of driving a car. Sort of. Roundabouts are scary.

And my muse is a sphinx. Just thought you'd like to know. Occasionally she's a classic sphinx but mostly she's my own breed of cat girl sphinx. So yeah.

-off to procrastinate more now-

Grrrr

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY DAMN WRITING CHALLENGES!!!!!!111ELEVEN!!!!

Seriously. I just....I just found out about WriYe and Milwordy. In the space of ten minutes.

Gaaaahhhh

I mean, my little muse is jumping up and down screaming 'Do it, do it, do it!' but the rational part of me is saying FUCK NO cause I have so much art work to do this year and an english exam in January. I mean, I have an essay (probably two), a storyboard and a whole ton of work to do in the one week half term and that's just for the FIRST FRIKKIN TERM. Dammit.

Maybe next year, or the year after. Then again, I think Milwordy can start at any point during the year, so...maybe start it as a summer thing? Someone worked it out and to finish it you have to write about 3k a day which is something like over 80k a month, every month, for 12 months. I want to do it - I don't know if I can but I wanna. Maybe I should join Wri-Ye in the 50k - 250k club, and go from there. I mean, when I had my plan for JulNo I got 60k done in just over 2 weeks (I was on holiday the next two weeks and so couldn't participate). That shows that if I have a PLAN then I CAN do a ton of writing easily, even when my wrists want to fall off.

If I do something like WriYe, maybe I can just do a personal thing, which admittedly would lack the kind of committment I give to NaNo. WriYe is more achievable cause you can set whatever target you like, whereas Milwordy is ONE MILLION words. Eleven 90k novels.

Holy fuck, if I planned and wrote eleven novels I'd HAVE to improve. There's no doubt about that. Maybe I should spend 2011 planning all the novels in my 'to write' folder. Then I could spend 2012 (the doomed year, oh no) writing those novels. The only problem I can see with that is that I'll lose interest for some of them the longer I spend on them.

BUT! I'm thinking of setting TTSGD in Erivaxya, which I only made up for the beginning of a story called The Murderers Ward. I could technically work out a way to fit probably 80/90% of my stories in that world, since it's a fantasy world. I could just work out a rough timeline, edit my stories to fit and bam! Instant series a la Mercedes Lackey (from what I've seen of her books anyway). That could work.

I mean, TTSGD will fit. I can throw Karana in at some point pretty much anywhere as just a 'Legend of Yore' type thing. Erivaxya is meant to have this big book of legends and heroes called The Reksha'sa, so that could go in there. The Murderers Ward obviously fits. I can probably transfer Chronicles of Eathir over into there as well, if I fix up all my geography points and draw some freaking maps. I don't think the All-World books would work there, since they start off as portal fantasy and go from there. The Coven Trilogy will definitely be able to fit in - again, if I work out a timeline etc.

I can develop all the races etc for it and I don't think I want it to become a hugeass series that people will be intimidated to start (cough cough Wheel of Time cough cough) But more like...like Scott Sigler, from what I can gather. All of his books are going to be linked in a timeline but they have different series of their own and you don't have to read all the others to understand one. Or like Terry Pratchett, actually, that's a better example. You can read any Discworld book you like without having picked up any other book. It just makes it BETTER if you've read the other books cause you can pick up on references to other things.

Yeah, that's what I want to do. Make Erivaxya a Discworld kind of thing.

If I ever do this, expect it to be epic. And there to be an attempt at publishing because fuck me, I'm not having eleven+ books sitting on my hard drive just taking up space.

In other news, I got custom fit fangs today, and they're damn awesome. :)

GIANT PIGEON

Yeah.

I had another driving lesson today. It went pretty well, and I'm getting the hang of changing gears and stuff, so that's all good. I only stalled a few times trying to do the clutch+brake to lifted clutch+accelerator change thing for going right on a turning thing.

Anyways. There was a sculpture of a giant pigeon in one of the business parks where I'm having my lessons. I drove past it and my instructor told me about it. It's kind of...weird.

I'm hyped for NaNo. This is the first time I've developed and plotted a story in such detail and not fallen out with it. I lovelovelove the characters for Till The Sun Goes Down (yes, Mirror Mirror got thrown away somewhat, ignore me)

Elena's just so cool though her curse mark design has changed since I made the cover, so I need to do something about that. I do like the cover but it doesn't exactly reflect the story at all. I mean, the story is very high-fantasy but with a few cliches removed, not the sort of YA fantasy that my cover design is usually paired with.

And Elena's been giving me all sorts of interesting tidbits. She can play the harp. She likes to dance. She likes folk-y music.

She's one of the more 'real' characters I've created in my life. It's so good to finally have a mature story going. Not mature as in the content, as in the creation of it. It's the difference between a sketch and a life drawing. I've put the effort in and I can reap the rewards from it.

In other news, I have to write an essay for art about the bauhaus movement over half term, and make a storyboard for an existing movie (probably going to do Labyrinth simply because I know the story so well and can focus on picking out scenes more easily).

booo.

I'm getting on with my art, to an extent. Sure, there's loads I need to do and want to do, but I know what they are, which is better than having to do stuff and not knowing what.

I've got some kind of addiction to j-rock tag radio on last fm. Versailles, Maximum the Hormone and Dir en Grey are love. So are l'arc~en~ciel, who I'm starting to adore. I also quite like HIGH and MIGHTY COLOUR. CURSE YOU JAPAAAAAANNNN.

They make such epic music it's just like...gaahhhh.

Another side note, Claires had custom fit fangs for 4.50. I may get them on Monday if they're still there, cause that's fricken awesome. Ever since I found out about custom fits from the Scarecrow ones I've wanted some. The ones from Scarecrow are pretty expensive, like £12 or £13 I think. So getting some, even if they're sub-par, for 4.50 would be awesome. Yeah, if they're still selling them then I'll treat myself with my birthday money. I still want to get the Pentax X-90 but that's seeming more and more like a far off dream.

I entered a writing competition the other day on JotSpeak. Check it out if you want, cause it's pretty cool. I've been looking up a lot of writing comps, actually, because there are some free ones out there where you can win money, which would be really useful. I'm gonna try and enter a short story contest run by Wyvern Publications because it doesn't end in money but in publication in an anthology. The comp is to write a short vampire story that's actually scary. I need to write the story but I think I can do it, and to get published would be so cool. I know I've got things in print but it would be nice to have something more up to date in a book.

There's another comp that I might enter where it's just a short story on any topic to win £100. I might as well give it a shot, right? If I enter enough things I'm bound to win eventually.

Anyway, that's enough for now, I gotta get back to plotting.

...FEK

Okay, so, I had planned to rewrite Mirror Mirror for NaNo this year. I've been fixing up plot holes, developing characters etc etc in my little notebook. I was happily re-hashing away and then BAM!

Last night at line dancing we did Dance Like You're The Only One. Which is set to Sun Goes Down by David Jordan. This wouldn't be a problem normally. I love the song and I love the dance and it's pretty easy, even when I'm so tired I'm falling over.

Then the music kicks in and WHAMMO! (there will be many comical sound effects today. Deal.) I suddenly want to write a book called 'Till The Sun Goes Down. These are the lyrics I mainly like (namely the ones that aren't about dancing and shake-make-it-funky-down-ing)

Open your eyes cause another day is dawning
Children of the moon can you hear them all calling?
Skies open up and an angel starts falling
Listen to the beasts, can you hear them hollering?

We're right on time, and all is fine
If you've lost your senses, here have mine and..

Lose yourself from the time
you awake till the evening time
till the sunshine breaks.

Fire's burning on and so there's children in the forest playing
Just come forget this too because the beast is hunting for its prey

So yeah. I also have two character names...sort of.

Elena // Eterna (Eterna cause that was the label on the hand dryer I used after I went to the toilet after the song. SHUT UP)
Rauk/Raurk/Rouk/Rourk - can't decide, I think I like the first one best. That was from a verbal slip up of walk Linda made.

All I know about this story is that Elena has yellow eyes and is represented by a photo of me I've wanted to use as a cover for some time on the cover I just spent about an hour (?) making in photoshop when I should have been doing my college work.

ARRRRRGGHHHH!

Now I have a dilemma. I could plot out and work out things about TTSGD and do that for NaNo. It would be a fun adventure with new characters and events and things. And that's what the spirit of NaNo is about.

Or I could rewrite MM like I planned to and make it better, shinier and way more awesome. I'm going to phase plan it ANYWAY so I might as well do it during a month where I'm guaranteed to finish the stupid thing.

Thing is, TTSGD feels like it will be fun. I love MM and the characters and everything (my arms are tingling, that can't be good can it? I hope I haven't got that weird thing I had in JulNo that was like RSI but REALLY FREAKING PAINFUL)

sidetracked.

Anyway. I don't know what to do. I kind of really want to find out what TTSGD is about but having a story where I know the basic plot etc and can have an outline done for in maybe a week or so would be helpful. I love NaNo and will do it but having a plot outline makes me work faster and produce more in a shorter amount of time. Since I have so much work to do for college I don't know if I can afford to spend a whole month working at a novel I know nothing about.

Speaking of which, I need to write an essay for english about Lady Bracknell and how she is a TRANSIT VAN OF SATIRE.

recurring joke lol.

Also I'm supposed to be getting an essay every two weeks for english. They'll only have to be about 1k each, which admittedly isn't a lot but I freak out about things for english. They have to be PERFECT.

Art is so demanding too. Cycling two miles there and two miles back to and from college every day is killing me slowly, especially since my books are so heavy. I have two A3 hardback sketchbooks and two other sketchbooks that are A4 and hardback. Admittedly mostly I only have to take one book in but it's still a strain. I have done a lot of work but there's still more I have to do, since we have 18 units to finish in two years.

Currently I'm working on: Painting, Repeat Pattern, 2D/3D, Narrative Photography and Making the Ordinary Extraordinary(Digital Media). Also I'm having life drawing classes.

GAAAAHHHHH.

Oh well.

Still don't know what to do, so yeah. I'll make a decision...hmm, probably on October 31st.

Take a gander at my INFINITE BOOKSHELF

If only it were real. Keep scrolling, it will never end, MUHAHAHAHA!

I have to draw a real live naked person tomorrow. YAY

I have to finish all of my experimentation and ideas in time for painting on a canvas next week. Oh god.

I'm currently doing some sort of abstract, modern, updated versions of images from Durers 'Apocalypse' woodcuts. Ooh, I sound all art-student-y. I'm awesome.

My back hurts so bad right now. Carrying huge art books to school and back (approximate distance; 2 miles hohboy) is not the most fun thing ever.

So yeah. Wow, I don't blog in forever then I'm like 'I'll post twice in a day lol'. And yes I do actually say 'lol' out loud. Or 'lulz.'

I better go do some work now. I HAVE TO WRITE AN ESSAY ABOUT LADY BRACKNELL BEING A TRANSIT VAN OF SATIRE.

JOY

I like abusing the caps lock. Also, I clearly haven't typed in forever cause I keep making typo's. I'd better blog a lot, actually, and prepare my fingers for NaNo, which I am already super excited about. Mirror Mirror is going to become so much more epic.

BYE

So yeah

When do I ever keep internet promises? Never, so that's why I'm not exactly promising to post more regularly. More like, 'I'll put the blogger link in my bookmarks bar and maybe click it every now and then instead of NEVER'.

Also, hi again Levi. I suck. I haven't read anyone's blogs in forever, mostly cause I never click follow cause I'm lame and also people deleted/stopped updating. So meh.

College is made of epic win so far. Lots and lots of pretty drawings. I'll try and take photo's to upload soon. I actually have to leave to go to college soon, so I really shouldn't be blogging.

I have Alex's hat, heheh. He left it here yesterday by accident.

OH BTW YOU GUYZ, I'm 17 now. Woop woop. I had a driving lesson yesterday and I DROVE A FREAKIN' CAR. Omg. I stalled it, like, twice. And I nearly drove into an oncoming vehicle. I AM SO RESPONSIBLE.

I got some epic presents, mainly from my sister: Zombie Survival Guide, Soylent Green and How To Survive A Horror Movie. My brother got me a Dragonology game for DS but when I was playing it last night my battery died and I can't find my charger. Boooo.

Imma stop now cause I really should leave. I won't forget my ID card like I did yesterday cause it's in my bag now. Yay! Also that's twice now I've forgotten it and it costs £2 for a temporary one, which sucks.

Might post more later, but BFN.

I MAKE NO PROMISES

*blows dust off of the blog*

Wow, when was the last time I used this thing?

Meh. Just gonna talk about stuff. I'll probably post something on stashlife later but hey.
I'm in college now and it's all good fun. Lots of artyness (no shit)
I'm still trying to get a cartooning style down. I drew an Ed Elric dragon yesterday, that was awesome.
I know the first ten hiragana. Go me.
FMA is made of WIN and I want Ed's watch. I need to watch Brotherhood too, but I'm waiting a little while. I'm watching Hetalia and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann now (Hetalia being ongoing) and then imma watch Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Then Brotherhood. Probably.
I have a new room. My sisters old one, actually. The walls are electric blue. LOL DAVID BOWIE JOKE
I've written an epic song and nearly finished a new one about FMA
I have a new haircut as of today. I wanted my side fringey bits back. Now I can spray them fancy colours and suchlike.
I went for a job interview and didn't get the job, which makes me sad since I was already planning what to spend the money on. Also because now my mum will start her infernal bitching again about me getting a job. I don't WANT to. Why do I have to? I do a paper round, that's enough isn't it? So I can't buy a whole ton of things, like a new Pentax camera and Ed's watch and a hellgirl necklace? I know loads of other people my age have jobs but frankly I don't really want one. My mum is just...eurgh, basically.
So yeah, not exactly the happiest bunny about that.
I have to have driving lessons for my birthday too. That's my present. No joke.

Sometimes I start realising that my life is kinda controlled. I dislike it. Especially when it always seems to be the case that I go out (school, NF gathering, Alex's) have a good time then come home and get bitched at, usually for stuff that isn't my fault.

There are several problems. One, I want to move out, live with Alex and draw pretty pictures for ever and ever. Two, I don't want to grow up. I want to stay in my own little fantasy world forever and ever. Three, I am stupidly shy in real life. Contrary to what I said in my interview, I HATE dealing with people. I get way too worked up over what they may be thinking about me, what impression I had, whether I've annoyed them etc.

GAAAHHH. Why can't I just be one of those super confident people? I'm even shy online, you know. I don't leave comments cause I'm scared of how people will take them. I don't like having people be mad at me. Except for trolls, cause they are teh lols.

I got bitched out by the police, actually, for riding my bike in town. My mum didn't get mad at me for that. She did when I complained about burning my toast.

Can I come live in the internet? I just wanna...I can't put it into words. FEH.

Do you ever get hypersensitive about time? As in, you suddenly realise that you have years and years to fill and NO IDEA about what'll happen or what you'll do? Or that all those years actually add up to nothing and you'll be dead soon?

Yeah, those thoughts suck.

Anyway, I guess I'll look up jobs at Sainsbury's now. Shelf stacking I can do - requires little to no social interaction.

This is why I need to be an author. Why I need to get a following on DA, get known and then be able to sell stuff. Selling commissioned sketches would be useful, even if I only charge £5 for things.
If anyone of relevance is reading this, I'll set up paypal or a DA print thing or something and sell little bust sketches for £3 in black and white, £4 in traditional colour and £5 in digital. Reasonable? I think so.
